1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Parleo mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Parleo is a language learning application that generates flashcards from text you provide — via photo capture, clipboard paste, or manual input. The App uses artificial intelligence to create flashcards including translations, definitions, example sentences, grammar notes, and audio pronunciations. Cards are reviewed using a spaced repetition system to support long-term vocabulary retention.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Parleo.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or otherwise access the App beyond its intended interface
• Submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Parleo offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are managed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.
• Pricing may change with reasonable notice. Any price change will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

6. Intellectual Property

The Parleo application, including its design, code, branding, and underlying technology, is the property of Better the Map LLC. All rights are reserved.

You retain ownership of the text content you submit to the App. By submitting content, you grant Parleo a limited license to process that content for the purpose of generating flashcards and providing the service.

7. AI-Generated Content

Flashcards generated by Parleo are created using artificial intelligence and may contain errors, including incorrect translations, inaccurate grammar explanations, or imprecise definitions. Parleo is a learning aid and is not a substitute for professional translation, language instruction, or linguistic reference materials.

You acknowledge that AI-generated content should be used as a study tool and verified when accuracy is critical.

8. Limitation of Liability

Parleo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Better the Map LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us at [email protected].

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the App.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
